विकिलिक्सका संस्थापक जुलियन असाञ्ज झन्डै पाँच वर्ष जेल बसेपछि अन्ततः रिहा भएका छन् । उनी बेलायतको जेलमा १९ सय दिन बसेपछि रिहा भएका हुन् ।
उनले अमेरिकी सेनाका गोप्य दस्ताबेज सार्वजनिक गरेका थिए । जसपछि उनलाई पक्राउ गरी मुद्दा चलाइएको थियो । पछिल्लो समय भने उनी बेलायतको जेलमा थिए ।
विकिलिक्सले मंगलबार बिहान असाञ्ज जेलमुक्त भएको जानकारी दिएको छ । साथै उनी आफ्नो देश प्रस्थान गरेकोसमेत उल्लेखग गरेको छ ।
प्राप्त जानकारीअनुसार बेलायतको लण्डनस्थित अदालतबाट उनी जमानतमा रिहा भएका हुन् ।
अमेरिकाका गोप्य दस्तावेज लिक गरेको आरोपमा उनले आफू दोषी रहेको स्वीकार गरिसकेको समाचार एजेन्सी एएफपीले जनाएको छ । जसपछि उनलाई सोमबार राति रिहा गरिएको हो ।
एएफपीका अनुसार असाञ्जले गल्ती स्वीकार्ने र अमेरिकाको जेलमा बस्न नपर्ने सम्झौता अमेरिकी न्याय विभागसँग भएको छ ।
अष्ट्रेलियाई मूलका असान्जले सन् २०१० मा विकिलिक्स अनलाइनमा अमेरिकी सेनाका गोप्य दस्ताबेजहरु सार्वजनिक गरेका थिए । जसले विश्वभर सनसनी मच्चाएको थियो ।
विशेषगरी इराक र अफगानिस्तान युद्धका विषयमा अमेरिकी सैन्य रहस्य उनले सार्वजनिक गरेका थिए । जसलाई अमेरिकी सेनाको इतिहासमै सबैभन्दा ठूलो सुरक्षा चुक मानिएको थियो । यससँगै उनलाई जासुसी गरेको लगायतका १८ मुद्दामा अमेरिकी संघीय ग्राण्ड जुरीले दोषी ठहर गरेको गरेको थियो ।
असुरक्षा महसुस भएपछि उनी सात वर्षसम्म लण्डनस्थित इक्वेडरको दूतावासमा शरण लिएर बसेका थिए । त्यसपछि उनी पक्राउ परेका थिए र सन् २०१९ मा लण्डनको उच्च सुरक्षायुक्त बेलमार्शको हिरासतमा राखिएको थियो ।
